My word of the week this week is FRUGAL
I have taken a good stock of my fridge and my tin cupboard and my freezer and drawn up a meal plan. We WILL stop wasting food, having to throw it away because it is past it’s sell by date or because it is no longer fresh.
So here is my plan for the week. Apart form salad and a little fresh fruit bread for lunches and milk I should not have to buy anything this week and I should be able to use up all this food. Despite good intentions I never normally meal plan so this will be interesting.
We are normally pretty spontaneous about what we eat.
Saturday Baked potaoes with cheese and onion & salad ~ Yogurts
Sunday Frittata and stuffed peppers ~ Fresh fruit
Monday Quorn Sausages, mash and beans ~ Icecream
Tuesday Vegetable pasta bake & salad ~ Fruit Skewers with dipping yogurt
Wednesday Tagliatelle with peas ,veggie bacon and white cheese sauce ~ Trifle
Thursday Vegetable Fajitas & tomato soup ~ Bananas and custard
Friday Eggs chips and spaghetti hoops (well it is friday and they do need eating up) ~Home made ginger bread
I’ll let you know how we get on with our frugal food this week as we work towards having a thriftier home.
