Follow these 5 golden rules for a gorgeous home on a budget

We all want to have a gorgeous home on a budget but sometimes a gorgeous home that equates in our mind with spending lots of money  but it really doesn’t have too. Thrifty tips are often common sense but sometimes when faced with the opportunity to shop we forget to keep it simple and cover the basics.  Here are the golden rules to creating a gorgeous home on a budget

home on a budget

Keep it tidy

A tidy home looks about 100% better than an untidy one Keeping surfaces clear and uncluttered, toys packed awa, paperwork neatly filed, rubbish disposed of and mail sorted makes for a home that an really be seen. Clutter clouds everything and hides the loveliest of homes.

Keep it clean

Shiny stainless steal, smear free baths, clean carpets , gleaming windows, a clean form t door all make a home look its best. You would nt go out in a dirt coat would you and your home doesn’t deserve that either. All hands to the deck though this is not just YOUR job.

Have a defined style.

My blogger pal Jen at Love Chic Living is an interiors blogger and she suggest picking 5 words that appeal to you in terms of style and stick to those when designing and defining you home. For me I would choose white, bright, contemporary, minimal, comfortable. Having these style prompts allows co-ordination throughout the home that then pulls it together in a coordinated look.

Buy sparingly and well

Try and not just be pulled in to spend by items that are on offer or catch your eye. Really think about purchases and be a mindful shopper. Plan what you need, have a good search for it, really consider if it something that will enhance your home.  Then search online for how to get it for a great price. Do look at voucher sites like  www.vouchacodes.co.uk to see if you can get a voucher towards your purchase and a good discount. This only takes moments but could help you make good savings.

Finishing touches

Flowers from the garden, even a few daisies,  make a sweet addition to any home. Fresh fruit, the smell of coffee from  cheaper coffee makers and lemon shortbread baking all add delicious bursts of colour and aroma to any home. Little attentions to details make all the difference.

I firmly believe if you do these 5 things you really can have a gorgeous home on a budget. Never for get little things really like having lovely air fresheners and using the best cat litters  help  make such a difference. Don’t forget the little things.
