I love my sofa! It is a fabric sofa with soft cushions and I have a fleecy and lambs wool throw over it for extra cosiness! I just love settling down to watch tv, have a glass of wine, use my laptop, etc whilst sitting on it!
My favourite piece of furniture is a gorgeous old 1920’s plain and simple chest of drawers. It’s big and solid, with rounded corners and perfect round knobs and loved deep chestnut colour (I would need to punch anyone in the nose who might suggest that it should be upcycled with a lick of Annie Sloan…).
We picked it up in a secondhand furniture shop, and I just love it ridiculously…

My favourite piece of furniture is a very old oak dining table. It has been with the family for over 30 years. I remember having meals around it as a young child. It has got marks on it now but I love it, the detail on the legs and the quality of workmanship is still clear to see.

I think my favourite piece is an old desk that’s currently a bedroom dresser. I’ve had it for years. It’s been a work desk, hall table and now dresser. It’s been sanded, stained, varnished and is currently lime-washed. The handles have been changed a few times to fit in and I’d never get rid of it.

I love my kitchen table which I bought from IKEA 20 years ago for my so to go to uni to study graphic design. I brought it back put it in my kitchen and it has been a godsend since. It takes heat, knocks gouges, ink, baking and sit down meals without looking any different than it did when I bought for £30. I will never get rid of it. It is part of me and my family.
I have a rocking chair that my Grandfather made for my mother when she was pregnant with me. Its nice to have that piece of family history in my home as they are both gone now.

My old writing desk bureau, a big old fashioned old one that I picked up for peanuts at an auction, some of the draws were still lined with 1930’s newspapers. The patina is verging on the beautiful and even the wear and tear gives it depth and character. It’s a great place to work and read at.

I love my daughter’s Sleigh Bed, it’s a double white frame and it’s absolutely beautiful, handcrafted in solid wood and hand painted, it’s a real statement piece.
My Laura Ashley Bramley sideboard. The website picture really doesn’t do it justice – it’s distressed but the finish of it is incredible – so smooth and incredibly well made. It’s filled with all my books, DVDs and photo albums at the moment – plenty of space for them all.
My bed. A big black leather kingsize bed.. it’s the most expensive bit of furniture I own.. but it’s so comfortable with it’s memory foam mattress. I was always told to invest in a good bed and good shoes, cos if you’re not in one you’re in the other.

My favourite piece of furniture is my large wooden freestanding pigeon hole bookshelf. My mum rescued it from a skip at my primary school and kept it for 15 years before giving it to me as a moving out present. It used to be in my reception classroom and is now with me every step of my adult life. After a bit of sanding and wood treatment it looks as good as new, holding my every growing recipe book collection. The bookshelf is a bit like the rocking chair with form and function going hand in hand. If I win this chair I would love to sit it next to my bookshelf where I can immerse myself in books and rocking away the hours.

My favourite piece is my sofa, which is part of a 3-piece suite – the two best bits is that I saw the sofa in a local Heart Foundation furniture shop marked up at £50, only after enquiring about it discovered there were two chairs but best of all the sofa is actually a metal action sofa bed. Even after paying a delivery charge I have had an excellent bargain and supported a charity, I’ve had it at least three years and it still has a lot of life left in it 🙂

My Art Deco sideboard which I found in a junk shop for £40 was in a terrible state and I cleaned it up using lots of turps and wire wool.Took me ages to clean up as it had years of dirt built up in the wood but with lots of wax to finish it off it it is now a beautiful piece of furnature.

We have a couple of utility bedside tables which I lovingly restored and upcycled over 20 years ago, and they still do stirling duty – hubby and I call them our “dens”, and they’re one of the few places to hide gifts for each other, as your den is always sacrosanct!!

It’s an old waiting room chair that I got off freecycle – it was all ripped and torn, I picked up a pink and gold duvet sheet of material in my local charity shop for £1.50 and recovered the back and seat pads. I then sprayed the metal frame gold and reattached them. It looks really good and unusual and is completely unique 🙂

My favourite piece of furniture is a TV stand/AV equipment rack which I made myself from solid Ash. The Ash is 28mm thick and the thing must weigh 20 Kilos. I’ve recently had to sell my house (I’m renting now) and there I’d MADE the floor and four 2.5m high shelves – all from ash. These were too big to bring with me though.
