So what would my ideal home office look like?
Oh how I long to make my ideal home office happen
My perfect home renovation would be a room for me.
That may sound selfish but do hear me out – it would benefit us all.
There is a space at the back of our house that we could build on and it would absolutely make the perfect office for me. Right now I work in the corner of our kitchen, I face a wall. My projects and papers and vlogging equipment are all kept on the edge of the kitchen table behind where I sit. The kids dump their homework on top of it as they come in. Sandwich boxes mingled with school letters mingle with my work. It is truly a tangle,
From the minute my kids get home I have no space or peace to work properly and it is just not workable.
I NEED a room of my pwn.
I can totally envision how this room would be and for me, it is the ideal home renovation. Me, being out the kitchen would enable me to work, my kids to spread their stuff about and be all loud in the kitchen and my husband to cook with his radio blaring.
I cannot wait to get out of there!
A good size
I don’t want a tiny poky office I want a room with space for a chair to read in. I want a big a table to put my projects and flat lays on. A big desk with room for my diaries and notebooks, my camera and more would just be perfect. I never ever want to feel squished again.
A glass roof
Oh, I just love glass roofs or roof lanterns as they are sometimes called. They are just so lovely, can you imagine how the room would flood with light. This would be perfect for vlogging and taking photographs but also generally for just lifting my spirits in winter. There is nothing quite like natural light is there? And I could daydream as the clouds drift by overhead.
Bifold doors
Bifold doors that lead out from my office straight onto the garden would just be lovely wouldn’t they? They would totally open up to let the outside in and I would never feel cooped up with these. I would turn my desk to face them and have the most glorious view with a big swathe of fresh air coming in too. Just perfect for inspiring me and helping me feel clear headed and ready to work.
Wooden floors
I love a real wood floor and think it makes a fabulous backdrop to photos. It also gives the excuse for beautiful rugs and floor cushions – two of my interior loving hearts delights.
Decoration
My accessories and decoration would be snowy white as I love the serenity of white and this would help me feel relaxed and calm. I would have lots of storage to keep me in order and keep the zen look going. I love plants too and green leaves with wood and white walls is always a favoured look of mine. Yes, I would definitely be investing in a few houseplants.
I would also have large pegboards, a vision board and a large wall calendar to keep me on track too.
Ah, it would be perfect.
What would your ideal home office look like? Would it be like mine?

Interesting article, thanks.
For me, an ideal office would start with size: enough room not be cramped. Like you, I prefer natural wood floors.
Natural light is a big plus as well (with curtains or shades to block out if necessary).
For me, a whiteboard is also essential for todo lists and brainstorming.
Good taste. I myself would love a glass roof (or maybe a window at least :P) and a huge desk. I think for me, it would a big room with a nice view.
