Bargain of the Week: Hotties

Welcome to this weeks bargain of the week linky hosted by myself and the lovely Emma from Mums Savvy Savings

I have a fabulous simple bargain to show you this week from Asda. Just £5 will give you a lovely toasty warm bed and save you having cold feet or having to pop the heating on. A sound investment for winter indeed. It looks so cosy too doesn’t it like a retro fairilse jumper complete with polo neck .

Do you use a hot water bottle?

Crucial I think in a thrifty home.

Keeping warm is so important. Whatever you do you need to focus on keeping draughts out of your home. One thing you also need to do is make sure that you have strong new windows to help keep your room warm. You can get new windows from Cambridge roofers. Without strong secured windows you will probably have a draft in your room making it much colder in the winter.

Last night seemed to be the coldest so far and I’m wondering whether it would be a good idea to put the heating on. I’m fortunate to have two hot water bottles: an old Rabbit one and a Keep Calm and Warm red one.

I don’t use a water bottle, but maybe I ought to start! I hate that feeling when I first get into my cold bed! My kids are weird, they like their cold beds and keep their summer duvets on all year round!

Oh that is a lovely hot water bottle – and I think it would also make a great gift.

Whenever I think of hot water bottles I think of staying at my grandparents, they would always pop one in the bottom of my bed and my feet would be toasty warm

    That’s a bargain!

I’ve had horrible back ache this week and my hot water bottle has been a godsend.

(PS do I get extra thrifty points for saying I made my cover from a felted sweater?!) x

Funnily enough, I have shrunk some wool jumpers that I’m going to upcycle them into hot water bottle covers. My bargain of the week has to be buying my daughter’s Doodles daps for £10 instead of £22.
