A Hand Painted Treasure

Just living is not enough,” said the butterfly. “One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower.”

Hans Christian Andersen

This year we are growing our own sweet peas as it is a really cost effective way of having flowers fragrancing your home all summer. I have a lot of vases many just plain clear glass as I like flowers to take centre stage.

I wasn’t looking for another vase

But last week as I was browsing through the local charity shop this lovely unusual, little vase caught my eye. But this was rather special it is hand painted and each side is different.

I cannot wait to fill our hand painted treasure up  with our home grown sweet peas.

I think it is quite the prettiest thing I have seen in a long while.  It was a steal at just £5 and I think it has stolen my heart too. So lovingly hand painted, so bright and cheery.

Just perfect for our thrifty, colourful home.

I would far rather have two or three lilies of the valley gathered for me by a person I like, than the most expensive bouquet that could be bought!

Oh your jug is gorgeous! It’s perfect for posies from the garden.

Does it have a name on it at all? I wonder who made it?

    Thanks for linking up x
