I have this thing with floors
Floors, doors and windows do not get enough attention in my book. You hear people talk a lot about extensions and renovations and how they are going to build this or change that but the basics are often neglected and certainly not enthused over.
It makes my heart sing to see lovely windows, shiny and well functioning doors, and flooring? Well, flooring is something that really gets my attention.
I know I am not the only one though with this love for floors. If you follow the hashtag #Ihavethisthingwithfloors over on Instagram you will see a lot of people actually are REALLY excited by floors – just sadly often not their own.
There is nothing I dislike seeing more in a home than a worn and grubby carpet. I don’t even want to set foot on it..it just looks , in equal measure, unappealing and unhygenic. Yes, steam cleaners are carpets best friends but actually, I much prefer to see wooden flooring or a great laminate floor.
