I do believe that every thrifty home could really benefit from a well stocked craft cupboard. Crafting isn’t just for the kids these days more and more adults enjoy making things. There is something really authentic and genuine about homemade gifts, and of course it can save a small fortune too!
As Valentines Day is round the corner I was ready to pop out to my local shop and buy my other half a card when HomeSense asked if I would like to review some of their craft items. Now I didn’t know HomeSense sold craft items, I thought they just sold a rather eclectic and fabulous range of homeware. I do know HomeSense deliver up to 60% savings on designer and branded items and so I had high hopes I would get some nice craft bits at good prices.
I was right!
I love Homesense. I love that they have such a wide range of items you rarely ever see anywhere else. I love the great value you find there and the variety and the fact the stock changes regularly.
The craft items I picked up were rather lovely. Here’s what I picked…
So what to make?
First I made little ‘love tokens’ from the card set (£5.99 for 50 cards and envelopes!)
I made a Valentines day menu on the little clipboard (£6.99)
I set about making a decoupage card from the decoupage card kit (£1.99)
and I used the porcelain pens (£7.99) to decorate the glass heart jar (£3.99) and personalise it.
I am just so delighted with the homemade gifts I have made. I have so much lovely craft bits and bobs left over I am going to be able to make many more.
How fabulous are Homesense crafts !
Oh what lovely things?! I love the jar idea in particular because you can pay a fortune to buy something like that and that is so nice and personal.
Very sweet! I’ve been doing a lot of crafting myself since we moved – I actually really enjoy it and find it totally relaxing
What a lovely selection of crafts. We got our Valentine’s craft on too today but ours is a bit more basic LOL. I might have to check out Homesense and up our game a bit 🙂
How lovely, and so much more personal than something shop bought! 🙂
OMG I LOVE your crafts. I didn’t know HomeSense had craft products too. It just goes to show you can make something very beautiful without spending a fortune
They are beautiful, your OH is a lucky guy, and I also didn’t know HomeSense sold crafts but now I do I’m tempted to do similar.
never mind the thrift house, every house needs craft supplies and plenty of them too! love and hand made craft or card.
Ooh, what gorgeous things you chose Becky, and what a lovely job you did making personal gifts with them. If I got any of these on Valentines Day I’d be thrilled – would much rather have something unique and made with love than something big and expensive x
Oh such cute things! Really nice!
Ahhh I love that card! I’ve never been to Homesense before, in fact I don’t even know if I have one nearby – will look into it 🙂
Aaaaw I’m feeling all lovey now x x
I may have to do something crafty this afternoon!
